Your Questions, Answered!

Getting Started

What is clinical hypnotherapy?

Clinical hypnotherapy is a guided, focused state of attention (hypnosis/trance) used to work with subconscious patterns—while staying safe, aware, and in control. It’s designed to support meaningful change in thoughts, emotions, habits, and nervous system responses.

What does “trauma-informed” mean in your work?

Trauma-informed means we prioritize safety, consent, pacing, and nervous-system readiness. We don’t chase intensity. We build capacity first, and we only go deeper when your system is ready. You stay in control throughout the process.

Do I need to know exactly what I want to work on?

No. Many people arrive with a general theme (stress, anxiety patterns, confidence, sleep, emotional triggers, repeating relationship/work patterns). We can clarify goals together and build a plan from there.

What Sessions Are Like

What happens in a typical session?

Sessions are structured and personalized. In general, we focus on:

  • stabilization and safety

  • reducing trigger reactivity

  • building regulation and resilience

  • updating subconscious patterns at the root (when appropriate)

  • integration and future pacing for real life

The exact pacing and tools are always tailored to you.

Do I have to talk about everything that happened to me?

No. You never have to share details you don’t want to share. This work is consent-based. We can work with body cues, emotions, beliefs, present triggers, and subconscious patterns without forcing a full retelling of the past.

Will I be “asleep” or unconscious?

No. Hypnosis is not sleep. Most people feel relaxed, focused, and inwardly aware. You can speak, you can move, and you can stop at any time.

What if I can’t visualize or “see” anything?

That’s completely okay. Hypnotherapy doesn’t require vivid imagery. Some people experience hypnosis through sensations, emotions, thoughts, or a sense of knowing. We work with your natural style.

What if I feel emotional during a session?

That’s normal. Emotions aren’t a problem—they’re information. We work in a paced way so feelings can move without overwhelm. The goal is not to “push through,” but to create safe, lasting change.

Levels of Care (Session Planning)

Do you offer session series?

No. I don’t use preset packages. Your plan is built around your specific issue(s), your nervous system responses, and what level(s) of care you actually need.

So how do you decide what we do in sessions?

I use a structured Levels of Care framework and tailor it to you. We start where your system needs the most support, then progress in the right order:

  1. Stabilization

  2. Desensitization

  3. Regulation

  4. Subconscious Root Discovery & Emotional Resolution

  5. Body–Mind Coherence & Integration

  6. Identity Reconstruction

You may not need every level. Some clients complete meaningful work in the early levels; others benefit from deeper levels for more lasting change.

How many sessions will I need?

That depends on factors like: how long the pattern has been present, how intense the triggers are, how your nervous system stabilizes, and what life stressors are happening alongside the work.
Rather than guessing a number upfront, we use progress checkpoints to guide the plan.

Do you guarantee results in a specific number of sessions?

No — and ethically I can’t. Every person’s history, readiness, and nervous system pacing is different. What I can guarantee is a clear process, trauma-informed pacing, and collaborative planning based on your responses.

What if I need more support later?

That’s normal. You can book additional sessions as needed — either to move into a deeper level of care, support a new life phase, or reinforce what you’ve already built.

Consultation, Scheduling, and Practical Details

Do you offer a free consultation?

Yes. A consultation is a chance to clarify your goals, answer questions, and make sure this approach feels like a fit. Consultations are typically 45–60 minutes.

How often should I book sessions?

Most clients do best with weekly or biweekly sessions to maintain momentum and support integration. We’ll choose a pace that fits your nervous system and your life.

Are sessions always exactly 60 minutes?

Sessions are booked for 60 minutes. Occasionally, we may use a few extra minutes for safety and closure, especially after deeper work. If you feel you need more time regularly, we can discuss the best scheduling option.

Do you offer online sessions?

Yes, online sessions are available. You’ll need a quiet, private space and a stable internet connection. A headphone with build in mic is recommended.

Payment and Policies

How do payment and booking work?

Sessions are paid per appointment at the time of booking (or as otherwise stated in your booking confirmation). I do not offer payment plans.

What forms of payment do you accept?

You’ll see the available payment options in the booking system at checkout.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule.
Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice and no-shows are non-refundable and are charged in full.

What if I’m late to my session?

If you arrive late, we’ll use the remaining time scheduled. The full session fee still applies.

Are refunds available?

Session fees are non-refundable once a session is missed or cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice. (If there’s an emergency, please contact me as soon as possible.)

Do gift certificates expire?

Yes. Gift certificates must be used within 6 months of purchase and are non-refundable.

Can I transfer a gift certificate to someone else?

Yes—gift certificates can be used by the recipient named on the certificate (or transferred with approval). Please contact me if you need to transfer it.

Do you offer receipts for insurance or wellness benefits?

Yes. Receipts are provided after payment. (Coverage depends on your provider and plan.)

Safety, Scope, and Referrals

Is hypnotherapy safe for everyone?

Most people can benefit from hypnotherapy, but there are some situations where we may need extra care, collaboration with another provider, or a different approach. If you have concerns (e.g., severe dissociation, active psychosis/mania, or high-risk instability), please share that during consult so we can plan safely.

Is this medical or mental health treatment?

Clinical hypnotherapy is a supportive wellness service and is not a replacement for medical care, psychiatric care, or emergency support. If you are in crisis or feel unsafe, please contact local emergency services or a crisis line right away.

Can I work with you if I’m also seeing a therapist or counselor?

Often yes—many clients choose to combine supports. We can keep your work here aligned with your overall care plan, within appropriate scope and consent.

Results and Progress

How will I know if I’m making progress?

We track progress in practical ways, such as:

  • reduced intensity/frequency of triggers

  • faster recovery after stress

  • improved sleep or emotional steadiness

  • stronger boundaries and clearer decision-making

  • more consistent follow-through in real life

What if I’m afraid change won’t last?

That’s a common concern. That’s why we focus on:

  • nervous system capacity (not forcing calm)

  • subconscious pattern updating (not just insight)

  • identity alignment + future pacing (so the new response becomes your default)
